Diese Publikation ist ein Teil des mehrjährigen Ausstellungs- und Rechercheprojekts Textiles: Open Letter, das neben der umfangreichen gleichnamigen Ausstellung aus Konferenzen, Seminare und Workshops umfasst.
Aktuelle und historische Arbeiten beleuchten die analytische Qualität und Medialität des Textilen. Neben einer Dokumentation der Ausstellung umfasst der Band Essays, Beiträge von KünstlerInnen und für den Band zusammengestellte historische Materialsammlungen.
This publication is part of the Textiles: Open Letter exhibition and research project lasting several years and comprising conferences, seminars and workshops alongside the extensive exhibition of the same name.
Current and historical works illustrate the analytical quality and mediality of textiles. In addition to a documentation of the exhibition the book also features essays, artist contributions, and collections of historical materials compiled for this publication.
